RonnieB started his teaching practice in 1975 at the UN School. He teaches beginners, intermediates and advanced students using the same method he was taught by his two teachers, Myron Weiss and Ethan Fein who both studied with Lenny Frank, a jazz player in the ’50’s and ’60’s. RonnieB teaches how to read music, improvise, and create solo guitar arrangements. “It does not matter what type of music my students want to play. We focus on the exercises and techniques that build the skills and chops to play Rock, Jazz, and Classical music.”

Master Class: Building Solo Guitar Arrangements
On May 20, 2024, RonnieB gave a Master Class to the guitar players associated with his hometown jazz club called Jazz Jam SRQ. The topic was building solo guitar arrangements. He started by playing a simple melody and then adding the chords at the same time. The discussion then delved into the ways a player can open up the arrangement by adding effects, lines, arpeggios, etc. RonnieB finished by playing his arrangements of Yesterday and Just the Way You Are.
